Bachelor Party Tips

These are the most common VIP in Atlantic City bachelor party mistakes.

Staying at The Wrong Hotel

The hotel is more important than you think. The location, types, and cost can impact the outcome of your trip. Also, some hotels in Atlantic City have a strict “No Party” policy.

Not Having an ID

This is the biggest of the VIP in Atlantic City bachelor party mistakes! You and your buddies are all set and pumped for your trip, you get to the city and someone forgot their ID, or worse, the bachelor does not even have one. Now you’re faced with a Sophie’s Choice, do you leave them or head back? This may not seem plausible, but it is. We have seen a number of people get stranded outside of a club, including bachelors. SO, GET YOUR ID!

Getting Drunk To Early & Ordering The Wrong Type of Alcohol

For most of us, this isn’t our first rodeo, but the excitement of a bachelor party will lead to all day drink-a-thons. Nobody likes a sloppy drunk, especially if it’s 7PM on a Saturday night. We recommend you get bombed, no question, but don’t be the guy that your friends have to throw in a cab at the beginning of the night. Also don’t be that guy who thinks he’s still in a frat and orders 20 shots or challenges people to a drinking contest at 11am. The festivities last all night and so should you.

Tip: give everyone a business card from the hotel (ask the front desk), so no matter how drunk they get they can always hand over the card to a Limo or cab driver

Asking Strip Club Advice From Limousine And Cab Drivers

For some reason once you get into a cab the testosterone starts to fly. I don’t know why but people throw their inhibitions out the window once they get in the backseat of a limousine or cab. This usually starts by the driver pointing out the whatever semi-attractive woman is in plain view. If you get a really classy driver he’ll honk or better yet point out their obvious attractive features.

Thus begins the strip club conversation. You figure this guy seems alright and has experience taking tourists around therefore he must know all the best strip clubs in town. You could not be further from the truth for a number of reasons. The first being that the biggest name strip clubs – i.e. the ones he takes the most people to – are often lame tourist traps.

The second reason you shouldn’t trust a cab driver’s advice is that none of them actually go to strip clubs, if they did I can assure you that their taste in women probably mimics the smell of their cab. Simply put, asking a cab driver for strip club advice is like asking a bank teller for a hot stock tip.

Being Inappropriately Dressed Over/Under

A bachelor party is by no means a formal event, but just because you’ll be hanging out with a group of guys doesn’t give you the right to dress like a bum. Atlantic City clubs have a loose dress code. You won’t be allowed in if you are wearing sandals or shorts, but at the same time you don’t necessarily want to throw on a full suit. As the night progresses you’ll be sweaty and uncomfortable. Find a good middle ground. Dress shirt, blazers, kakis, and dark jeans are the standard. Dress appropriately to the place you’re partying at, if you’re going to a crowded club you’ll want to dress more comfortably and if you’re going to a supper club you’ll want to look a little more stylish.

Not Lying To Strippers

Being at a strip club is like being at a theme park. There are attractions and people in costume all for your amusement. The strippers are working hard to put on a fantasy in order to earn your cash. It is safe to assume that the majority of personal information they give you is a lie. Unless you think her parents really named her Maybach.

There is nothing wrong with this, in fact you should accept and appreciate this. In the end you will have more fun at the strip club. Be sure to lie about who you are and what you do. I personally like to pretend that I’m a plastic surgeon or a talent scout.

Also you want to lie to protect your wallet. If she asks where you guys went to eat say Mcdonalds even if you guys went to the most exclusive and expensive restaurant in town. No need to impress them as you will often do yourself more harm than good.

Taking Public Transport & Driving From Venue To Venue

Sure Atlantic City has a great public transportation system; this does not mean you need to take it to the clubs. What better way to celebrate a special occasion than having all your buddies walk unnecessary amounts and cram into trains with strangers. If you are considering this then congratulate yourself as you are one cheap bastard. You are better off walking. This is self-explanatory yet believe it or not we have had clients who did take the public transportation.

Driving from venue to venue can only lead to disaster. Having a car while in town is a nice perk. It will also be quite convenient if you have a daytime activity planned or want to hit the casino. That is where you’re driving should end. Park the car in the hotel garage and take cabs from venue to venue. Atlantic City isn’t a big town so your limousine or cab will end up being cheaper than parking the car anyway.

Renting A House For The Bachelor Party

I usually advise against renting a house over the weekend. It may seem like a good idea for everyone to be under one roof but can be a nightmare for the following reasons:

  • Bad location: most affordable houses are in poor locations
  • Cost effectiveness: hotels are cheap and are walking distance to most venues, the frequent cabs could eat into whatever savings you may have anticipated
  • No maids: 10 guys under one roof after a night of drinking will not be pretty.
  • No room service: late night eats or extra pillows are always nice
  • Fewer bathrooms: while you will hopefully not be fighting for a mirror, you may have to endure someone’s “surprise” and again, no maid.
  • Status: no girls will want to checkout your after-hours house party, but they might want to go back to a party in a suite at a 5 star hotel
  • Tip: If you want to get that house feel make sure to book a suite so that way you will have a party atmosphere with the convenience and amenities of a hotel

Not Tipping Properly & Collecting The Balance Last Minute

While all of our package include all tipping, people in Atlantic City still tip for limousines, cabs, food, and drinks. Nothing is more embarrassing than being berated by a waitress in front of your friends. Tip atleast 20% always or expect bad karma.

You were nice enough to put the entire trip on your card. Be diligent and don’t worry about hurting people’s feelings and collect everything you are owed before you guys get to Atlantic City. Nothing worse than staring at your friend’s friend nicknamed “The Mess” blowing the money you are owed on lap dances. Money is Money and those that can’t pay, can’t play.
